Billy Corgan and Jessica Simpson to make sweet music

Billy Corgan, oltre al materiale con gli Smashing Pumpkins, starebbe registrando anche con la sua nuova compagna Jessica Simpson. Per ora nessuna conferma ufficiale. Solo un personale scetticismo.

Billy Corgan Stratocaster

La Fender Stratocaster ha realizzato un modello di chitarra firmato Billy Corgan, che ben si adatta alle sonorità utilizzate dal leader degli Smashing Pumpkins a cui, nel 1991 in un club, era stata rubata quella che considerava la sua miglior chitarra. Billy si è stubito dimostrato entusiasta del nuovo strumento e del suo sound in stile Black Sabbath.

GC met up with Corgan & Chamberlin

In un'intervista esclusiva GC, Billy Corgan conferma il proprio scetticismo verso le etichette discografiche. Eccone uno dei passaggi più interessanti: "Well, I’d say the best thing is that we’re out of a label deal – totally free agents. We we’re just talking about how we’re going to start addressing our artistic relationships with the world in a different manner because we don’t have to go through some parental structure of “we don’t like it and it’s not going to sell” – you know? We’re excited about the prospects of sort of being our own business people in terms of how it interrelates business."

Avery calls Billy Corgan 'Inspiring'...

In un'intervista sul suo prossimo debutto solista (Help Wanted, che dovrebbe uscire i primi di aprile), Eric Avery, ex-bassista dei Jane's Addiction, parla anche dell'esperienza di tre settimane con gli Smashing nel 2001:
"I went into [the Pumpkins] with the same mentality I took with me when I auditioned for Metallica � I expected to have a good story to tell my wife. I had no expectations. I had heard nothing but bad things about working with Billy, but I went, and I found it to be a really inspiring time."
